Thursday's teaching table is free, lasts about an hour and has produced most of the euchre players now filling the top terrace.
Saturday's hold'em is the only night the bottom terrace gets loud enough to hear from the foyer. It is still played for points on a pad and nothing else.
The winter ladder runs June to August: a running score across eight weeks, a trophy made from a film reel, and absolutely no prize money.
